All-silica fibers consist of a pure silica core and a fluorine doped cladding, protected with a polymer coating. Additional secondary jackets are also available.

Advantages: Superior transmission in the VIS/NIR wavelength range, laser damage resistance, higher transmission than plastic clad silica (PCS) fibers between 1500nm and 2500nm.
