In Canada, P&P Optica Inc. was supplying fiber optic assemblies to the spectroscopy market and was looking for reliable, superior quality bulk optical fiber. In Germany, FiberTech GmbH was looking for ways to enter the American market. The synergy was natural; FiberTech Optica is the result.

Fast-forward to the present day: FiberTech GmbH continues to manufacture excellent bulk optical fiber and has entered the medical applications market, while P&P Optica has focused on its core strengths in instrumentation development, optical engineering and custom optics to develop an innovative multi-channel spectrometer.
